Residents Confront Potential Car Thief Two Times In Wall
Wall police urge residents to call them first after two instances Sunday in which residents confronted a person in attempted car thefts.

WALL, NJ — On Sunday night, a person dressed in black was confronted and ran away from residents in two attempted car thefts, police said.
Wall police responded to the two attempted thefts, but the suspect or suspects had already fled.

The first was reported at 10:20 p.m. at a residence on Allaire Road between Baileys Corner Road and Route 34.
The suspect was dressed all in black, with gloves and a ski mask. When the homeowner confronted the person, he fled to a waiting vehicle and then left the area.

At 10:30 p.m., police went to a residence on Williamsburg Drive for a similar incident.
The description of the suspect matches that of the earlier incident. The person again fled to a waiting vehicle when confronted by the homeowner.
Police "strongly urge" residents not to confront potential thieves, but to call the police first.
And police remind residents to always take the keys out of their cars and lock the doors.
