UPDATED: Search For Missing Monmouth Girl Still Underway: Prosecutors

Payton Cox, 15, of Neptune, was last seen on Sunday. As of Friday morning, the search to find her is still ongoing, prosecutors said.

NEPTUNE, NJ — The search for a missing girl from Monmouth County is still underway as of Friday morning, Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Spokesman Christopher Swendeman told Patch.

Payton Cox, 15, of Neptune Township, was seen leaving her home in Neptune at 2:20 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16, Swendeman said.

She is described as 5-foot-8 and was wearing black and red checkered pants, black shoes, a white zip-up hoodie and a dark-colored jacket, according to authorities. She also had a black backpack with her.

She was last seen boarding an NJT train in Long Branch at 9:30 p.m. headed for Newark-Penn Station. Authorities believe she could be in the Newark-New York area.
