3 Officers Join Wall Police Force

Extensive field training will take place for new Wall patrolmen.

WALL, NJ — The Wall Township Police Department has three new officers, sworn in Sept. 27 at the Township Committee meeting:

  • Jared Conte, 22, of Farmingdale. Conte was previously employed as a SLEO II with the Belmar Police Department.
  • John Kelly, 24, of Wall Township. Kelly was previously employed as a SLEO II with the Sea Girt Police Department.
  • Trent Powers, 23, of Wall Township. Powers was previously employed as a SLEO II with the Spring Lake Police Department.

The officers will begin an intensive 12-week Field Training Program, where they are assigned to a Field Training Officer, before beginning their patrol duties on their own, according to Chief Sean O'Halloran.

Each officer is to be paid an annual salary of $51,811.98, effective Sept. 28, according to the agenda item approved by the Township Committee.
