Wall Police Celebrate Deceased K-9’s ‘Loyal Service’

K-9 Sable served in the department for eight years as a patrol and explosive detection K-9.

WALL, NJ — Wall Police announced that K-9 Sable, who served in the department for eight years has died.

"The Wall Township Police Department appreciates the service, dedication, and contribution that K-9 Sable made to the police department and the Wall Township community she served," police said.

Sable had retired on December 31, 2019. She worked as a patrol and explosive detection K-9.

She was given several awards and commendations for her "outstanding" service, according to police.

"K-9 Sable especially loved to serve the community and participate in demonstrations for kids during community and school functions," police said.

After retiring, she lived with her K-9 handler, Sgt. Ian Hatch, "enjoying time spent with the Hatch family."
