Halloween Activities on Friday Night at Environmental Education Center
Learn about the outdoors while also enjoying Halloween-related activities.
“By the Light of the Moon,” for adults and children of all ages, is scheduled for 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. this Friday as the kickoff of Halloween Happenings activities this weekend at the the Somerset County Environmental Education Center at 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge.
Led by one of the center's naturalists, adventurers will explore the Great Swamp while listening for animal sounds and using their night vision to walk the swampy trails beneath the stars.
Walks will depart every 15 minutes, while at the same time indoor activities will include a maze, live critters, refreshments and more.

“The Nature of Halloween,” for infants to children ages 6 with an adult, is scheduled from 2:15 to 4 p.m. on this Saturday.
The cost for each program is $6 per person. Participants must register in advance online at www.somersetcountyparks.orgunder Naturalist Programs, by in-person registration at the Environmental Education Center seven days a week between 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or over the phone at 908-766-2489, or at NJ Relay 711 for individuals with a hearing or speech impairment.

The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center is located within Lord Stirling Park, in the Basking Ridge section of Bernards Township, within 425 acres of the western portion of the Great Swamp Basin of the Passaic River.
