New Committee Member To Be Appointed In Warren

The Warren Township Committee will vote on Thursday to fill Michael "Mick" Marion's term through the end of 2023.

WARREN, NJ — Warren will be appointing a new Committee Member on Thursday night to fill the remaining term of Michael "Mick" Marion.

The Warren Township Committee will vote during its meeting beginning at 7 p.m. when the candidate will be announced.

Marion, who had been serving since 2011, resigned from his position on Dec. 31. Whoever is selected by the Township Committee will finish out Marion's final year of his three-year term through the end of 2023.

The Warren Republican Committee submitted three names to the Warren Township Committee for consideration to finish Marion's term including Frank Dwyer (who serves on the township Planning Board), Barry Argiro (a certified public accountant), and Daniel Crosen (who was recently appointed as President to the Township Board of Education).

Committeeman Victor Sordillo told Patch it is still unclear who will fill the vacancy until a majority vote is made on Thursday.

Sordillo did add that he is taking this vote "very seriously."

"I want someone who is committed and in this for the long term," said Sordillo, who added that he is looking for someone who will commit to running for re-election in November for a full three-year term.

The township committee meeting will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Warren Municipal Building, Susie B. Boyce Court Room, at 44 Mountain Blvd. in Warren.

This meeting is broadcasted live on the Township’s website and Facebook page and available
virtually via ZOOM. It is also broadcasted live on the Access Channel and will be taped for
rebroadcast.
