Warren Soccer Star Named To U.S. Men's Team Competing In Mexico
Daniel Edelman, 18, of Warren and a 2021 Watchung Hills Regional High School grad has been named to the U.S. Under 20 Men's National Team.

WARREN, NJ — Soccer star Daniel Edelman, 18, of Warren and a 2021 Watchung Hills Regional High School grad, has been named to the U.S. Under 20 Men’s National Team for a soccer tournament/camp in Mexico.
At the age of 17, Edelman signed his first professional soccer contract with the New York Red Bulls in 2020.
Now Edelman will compete with the USA at the 2021 Revelations Cup from Nov. 7 to 17 against Brazil, Colombia and Mexico.

Edelman is among the 23 players on the roster who will begin preparations for the 2022 Concacaf U-20 Championship, which will serve as qualification to the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup and the 2024 Summer Olympics.
"We'll plant the seeds in terms of culture and playing and then get the boys to compete at their best level possible, learn from what happens in this tournament and then create a long-term plan to make sure that when we hit qualifiers, the team’s flying," said new U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team head coach Mikey Varas.
