Warren's Saly G's Undergoes Upscale Renovation After 'Chopped' $10K Win

Chef Joseph Gramaglia of Saly G's Restaurant & Tavern in Warren reinvested his $10K winnings from Food Network's Chopped into his business.

WARREN, NJ — Chef Joseph Gramaglia has been busy at his Saly G's Restaurant & Tavern in Warren after competing and winning $10,000 on Food Network's show "Chopped".

Gramaglia's episode "Pickle Panic" aired last December and he recently decided to use his winnings to upgrade and renovate his restaurant at 169 Washington Valley Road in Warren.

"When we opened the decor was in style but times have changed and things are more modern now. It was time to change and bring the restaurant up to date," said Gramaglia.

His next logical step was to elevate his restaurant's looks.

"It's good to reinvest. I think that's very important. To bring the restaurant up to the level we are at now," said Gramaglia.

Gramaglia hired an interior designer who completely upgraded the restaurant's looks from new flooring, lighting, wall paint and wallpaper, bar area and even the bathrooms.

"It came out better than I expected. It's great. It just brightens everything up," said Gramaglia. "We have the whole package now with design and great food."
