WATCHUNG, NJ — A woman from Scotch Plains was arrested and faces multiple charges after crashing her car into a utility post and failing sobriety tests, according Watchung police.
In the past few days, there were also reports of harassment and shoplifting. Here's the full Watchung police blotter for the period between July 5 and July 12.
On July 7: At around 7:45 p.m., Watchung police responded to Home Depot to investigate a report of shoplifting. Home Depot Loss Prevention Associates told police that a woman shoplifted $1,048.65 in merchandise. Police are investigating.

On July 8: At around 5:09 a.m., the Watchung police responded to Winter Lane to assist a resident with a tree that had fallen on their house. No injuries were reported and police assisted in securing the property.
On July 8: At around 10:40 a.m. the Watchung police took a report of fraud and theft by deception from a resident of Anderson Road. Police are investigating.

On July 8: At around 7:34 p.m., the Watchung police responded to Walmart to investigate a report of shoplifting. Walmart Loss Prevention Associates told police a man shoplifted $272.87 in store merchandise. Police are investigating.
On July 8: At around 11:42 p.m., the Watchung police responded to a single-car accident on Plainfield Avenue. The car struck a utility post. The driver, Kindal Estes, 37, of Scotch Plains, was arrested after failing field sobriety tests. Estes was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to consent to taking breath samples, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident. She was released pending a Watching Municipal Court date.
On July 9: At around 3:55 a.m., a resident of Richmond, Virginia, Contacted the Watchung police to report an incident of fraud. The victim reported that her personal information was used to open credit accounts at the Watchung Gap Outlet and the Watchung TJ Maxx. Police are investigating.
On July 10: At around 3:22 p.m., the Watchung police responded to the Chick-Fil-A restaurant to investigate a report of harassing phone calls. Two employees told police that they received unwanted harassing calls on their cell phones. There are nos suspects at this time.
On July 11: At around 1:57 p.m., the Watchung police responded to the Mattress Firm store to investigate a dispute with a customer. An employee told police that an unhappy customer called the store in a harasinf manner.
