Gift Givers To Learn How to Pick the Best Presents for Special Needs Children

Children's Specialized Hospital reps will be at Kohl's in Watchung on Dec. 10 to help parents choose the best presents for their special needs children

Parents who worry about choosing the right gifts for their special needs children are about to get a helping hand.

Children’s Specialized Hospital is partnering with Kohl's Cares to offer a special shopping event. On Tuesday, Dec. 10, shoppers are invited to the Kohl's store at the Blue Star Shopping Center in Watchung from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

There, gift givers will be helped selecting presents for the special needs children on their list that are "ability appropriate" rather than just age appropriate. “ability appropriate", rather than just age appropriate.

Experts from Children’s Specialized Hospital will guide shoppers and offer suggestions for buying toys and gifts for children with a variety of special needs, including, but not limited to: autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, physical disabilities and more. 

Kohl’s will also present Children’s Specialized Hospital with a check for $328,132 at the event. The Kohl's Cares cause merchandise program has donated more than $4.7 million to Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation since 2001, according to a press release.
