Power Outages Reported on Bayberry Lane

There are some reports of power outages in the area of Bayberry Lane in Watchung after a construction crew hit underground lines while working in the area Wednesday morning, according to Watchung Borough Police.

According to Watchung Police Lt. Joe Cina, a construction crew was working on the road around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

"They hit one of the underground lines and caused local power outages in the area," he said.

Cina said he is not sure if Bayberry School is affected by the power outage, but there have been reports in the area of locations without power.

Officers are investigating the situation, Cina said.

"We are not sure what the crews were working on, but officers are on scene now," he said.
