Two Arrested in Somerset County Home Raid, Drugs Seized: Sheriff's Office

A "substantial drug operation" was busted up after an investigation and raid of a Manville residence led to the arrest of two men on Sept. 3

The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office says a ”substantial drug operation” was busted up after an investigation and raid of a Manville residence led to the arrest of two men on Sept. 3.

The residents, Bryan Ziccardi, 34, and Kevin Baron, 38, were arrested after Sheriff’s officers initially showed up to the home in an attempt to arrest Ziccardi on a bench warrant.

Detectives found marijuana, heroin and, drug paraphernalia when they entered the home.

“When the officers knocked at the door, Baron answered and led the officers to Ziccardi, who was sleeping on the floor in a spare bedroom,” according to the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office.

“The detectives observed what appeared to be drug paraphernalia and drugs in plain view; they applied for a search warrant and soon after searched the premises where they found syringes, pill bottles, containers, packaging materials and suspected illegal drugs.”

Ziccardi and Baron are both charged with:

  • third-degree possession with intent to distribute
  • third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance (heroin)
  • possession of drug paraphernalia
  • possession/distribution of hypodermic syringes

Ziccardi’s bail was set at $20,000 full cash or bond and Baron’s bail was set at $10,000 with 10 percent. Both were remanded to the Somerset County Jail pending a court hearing.
