1 Dead, 1 Injured In Shooting At North Jersey Park

PATERSON, NJ — A woman was killed and a man was injured Tuesday in a shooting at a Passaic County park, authorities said.

Officers with the Paterson Police Department responded to East Side Park shortly before 6 p.m. after receiving a call about shots fired, the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release. When officers arrived, they found no victims, authorities said.

A short time later, authorities said a 21-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center with gunshot wounds.

The woman, whom authorities did not identify, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

No suspects were named and no arrests were made, according to the prosecutor's office.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
