Woman, 23, Shot In North Jersey

PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — A Passaic County woman was shot early Monday morning in Paterson, police said.

On Monday, just before 12:30 a.m., police responded to shots fired near 12th Avenue and Auburn Street.

Authorities later learned that a woman, 23, from Hewitt, had been admitted into a nearby hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound.

Authorities established a crime scene and determined that she was shot in the area of 12th Avenue and Auburn Street.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available, authorities said.
