2024 Meeting Dates Set For Wayne Township Council

If you're looking to attend a Township Council meeting this year, here's when to do so:

WAYNE, NJ — The new year has started and the Wayne Township Municipal Council has set its meeting dates for 2024.

Mayor Christopher Vergano administered the oath of office to several council members at the meeting on New Year's Day, and Lt. Gov. Tahesha Way was also in attendance to swear in the lone Democrat on the council, Francine Ritter, in the 5th Ward.

Republican Michael Fattal, who previously served on the Wayne Township school board, was sworn in, taking the spot of outgoing president Franco Mazzei, who represented Wayne's Third Ward.

Council members also selected at-large councilman Jason DeStefano to serve as council president.

In 2024, meetings will be held on the first and third Wednesdays of every month at 7:30 p.m. at the Municipal Building, which is located at 475 Valley Road.

If the first or third Wednesday is a legal holiday, the meeting scheduled for that date shall be canceled or rescheduled, the council said.
