WAYNE, NJ — Al Sadowski is running for a fourth term on the Town Council.

Sadowski, a Republican, has served as council president and on the budget and open space committees.

"It has been an honor and privilege to serve the residents of the 2nd Ward for the past 10 years," said Sadowski. "I look forward to getting a chance to discuss my record and accomplishments as well as the major issues facing our town as we lead up to the June primary."

Sadowski is a fiscal conservative. In his 10 years on the council, Sadowski has consistently voted down on budgets that raise taxes.

"Property taxes are the number one concern of homeowners and small business owners throughout Wayne," said Sadowski. "It is the reason I go through the budget line by line and continue to vote 'no' on municipal budget increases. Residents, especially senior citizens, are being taxed out of their homes."

Sadowski has sponsored legislation lowering the speed limit on Preakness Avenue to 25 miles per hour and got Passaic County to install a street light at the intersection of Valley Road and MacDonald Drive.

"One lost life on our roads is too many," Sadowski said. "Unfortunately we have had several along Valley Road due to multiple circumstances. We need a comprehensive plan that makes drivers more aware and pedestrians safer crossing our streets. Better visibility at night for NJ Transit bus commuters on Valley Road and lowering speed limits are good first steps."

The primary election is June 4.
