Another Teen Shot, Marks 3rd Shooting In This NJ City Within 2 Weeks

Two of the shootings, believed to be separate incidents, occurred on the same day.

PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — Another Paterson teen has been shot, making it the third shooting in the city in less than two weeks.

On Aug. 11, just before 2 p.m., Paterson police responded to the area of 11th Avenue and East 23rd Street on a report of a shooting. First responders established a crime scene, but were unable to find the victim immediately.

It wasn’t until about an hour later, Paterson police were called out to the area of Fair Street and East 18th Street on report of a gunshot victim. Investigation revealed that the 19-year-old victim had been shot at the 11th Avenue and East 23rd Street crime scene.

The teen was taken to St. Joseph's University Medical Center to be treated for the non-fatal wound.

Police are currently investigating the incident.

Aug. 4, 19-year-old victim

On Aug. 4, around 10:30 p.m., Paterson police responded to the area of Park Avenue and Summer Street on a report of a shooting.

Police arrived to find a victim, also 19, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to St. Joseph's University Medical Center for treatment of non-fatal injuries.

Aug. 4, 60-year-old victim

Earlier that day, at around 3:15 p.m., Paterson police were called to Park Avenue and East 18th Street on a report of a shooting.

Authorities established a crime scene, but were unable to find the shooting victim.

Later that day, police were notified that a 60-year-old man had checked into the Valley Hospital in Paramus to be treated for non-fatal gunshot wounds.

Investigators determined that the man, from Ridgewood, had been shot at the Park Avenue and East 18th Street crime scene.
