ATV Crash Seriously Injures 2 Teens In Passaic County: Report

Officials said the ATV crossed the center line and collided with a car on Tuesday. The teens, aged 14 and 15, were flown to the hospital.

WEST MILFORD, NJ — Two teenagers were hospitalized with serious injuries on Tuesday after the ATV they were on collided with a car in West Milford and they were thrown off, officials said.

The ATV riders, aged 14 and 15, were northbound on Highlander Drive and crossed the center line into the other lane of traffic at around 4 p.m., as NJ.com reported. They struck an oncoming car, causing both vehicles to veer off the road and into the woods, the report said.

Responding officers found the 14- and 15- year-olds with serious injuries, and treated them at the scene before a medical helicopter arrived to transport them to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson.

Officials said the driver of the car, an 18-year-old from West Milford, and his 15- year-old passenger had minor injuries and were treated at the scene, according to the NJ.com report.
