Bicyclist Struck By Car In Wayne: Prosecutor

The man is in stable condition at a local hospital, authorities said.

WAYNE, NJ — A 20-year-old bicyclist was hit by a car early Friday morning, authorities said.

Police responded to Newark Pompton Turnpike and Packanack Lake Road shortly before 12:30 a.m. on a report of a collision involving a vehicle and a bicyclist, said Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes.

A 67-year-old woman was driving a 2017 Toyota Corolla when a bicyclist crossed into her lane of travel, Valdes said.

The victim was taken to St. Joseph's University Hospital in Paterson for treatment. He is in stable condition, Valdes said. The woman driver remained at the scene.

Authorities are continuing their investigation. More information will be released when it is available, Valdes said.
