Clifton Store Donates $2k To Passaic Co. Turkey Drive
Stop & Shop donated a commission it received for selling a winning lottery ticket to the Passaic County Sheriff's turkey drive.

CLIFTON, NJ - Stop & Shop in Clifton recently donated $2,000 it received for selling a winning lottery ticket to the Passaic County Sheriff's Department's turkey drive.
After theKingsland Avenue supermarket sold a Cash5 ticket worth $884,000 in October, state lottery officials awarded Stop & Shop a commission.
Earlier this month, the store managers, Kelly Dowd and Gus Aiello, decided to give their reward to the annual effort by the sheriff's department.

Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik thanked the supermarket for its generosity, saying each year the department strives to donate dozens of turkeys to families in need across the county.
The "donation from Stop & Shop and many others will help to assure that families in need get to celebrate and give thanks on Thanksgiving,” Berdnik said.

$884K Lottery Ticket Sold At Clifton Supermarket
“It has been a very exciting two weeks since we sold the lucky Cash5 ticket. While we don’t know who our lucky customer is, we wish them our very best,” said Aiello. “Stop & Shop is very pleased that the winner’s good fortune can help those in need across Passaic County.”
Stop & Shop is in the midst of its annual Turkey Express program, which will deliver more than 18,000 turkeys to hunger relief organizations in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island this holiday season.
"Congratulations to the Clifton Stop & Shop for selling this winning ticket and becoming a lucky Lottery store,” New Jersey Lottery Deputy Executive Director Jerry Guarino said. “We are excited to have them as a valued partner who extends the benefits of a winning ticket to the community at-large, showing how even those who don't play the Lottery still win."
