Customer Stabs 2 Passaic Co. Bakery Workers Over Wrong Order, Cops Say
Last week's stabbings were over an eggplant sandwich order from four years ago, according to reports.
PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — Two bakery employees have been stabbed by a customer over a wrong order, according to the Paterson Police Department.
Employees at Baladna Bakery in Paterson were stabbed last week when a customer was “unhappy” about a purchase in the store, police said.
On Thursday, around 8 a.m., Paterson Police were called to Baladna Bakery, located on Main Street, on a report of a stabbing.

Police found two victims suffering from stab wounds. One was slashed in the arm, and the other was stabbed in the chest.
According to officials, one victim stated the altercation began when a customer was angry about an incorrect sandwich order at the bakery.

According to CBS News New York, the suspect claimed the eggplant sandwich, which was ordered in 2021, made him ill because he was allergic to eggplant. As a result, the suspect lashed out against employees four years later, cutting them with a "sharp instrument."
The suspect fled the store after the stabbings and has not been apprehended yet, authorities said.
The two victims were brought to St. Joseph’s Medical Center and are now in stable condition, police added.
