Dog Found In Submerged Cage In Passaic County Pond: Police
The puppy was in a cage in a West Milford pond, authorities said.
PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — A dead puppy was found inside a cage in a West Milford pond, authorities announced Wednesday.
The puppy was found in a pond off of Bonter Road, said Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes. The cage was submerged in the water.
The puppy was a female golden retriever, Valdes said.

The New Jersey State Agricultural State Lab will perform a necropsy on the deceased animal.
The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office did not release any further information.

Chief Assistant Prosecutor Andrew Palestini could not be immediately reached for comment.
Authorities are investigating. More information will be released when available, Valdes said.
