Double Fatal Crash Also Leaves 2 Critically Injured In North Jersey: Officials
The vehicle crashed into a pole just after 4 a.m. on Sunday, officials said; two passengers were killed.
PATERSON, NJ — Two people died and two were critically injured early Sunday morning after the vehicle they were traveling in crashed into a pole on State Route 20 in Paterson, officials said.
The crash took place near the intersection of 18th Avenue and McLean Boulevard at around 4:05 a.m., said Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Isa Abbassi in a news release.
First responders took all four people to St. Joseph's University Medical Center. Two passengers were pronounced dead at the hospital, and the driver and another passenger were listed in critical condition, according to officials.

The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office asked anyone with additional information about this crash, or who may have witnessed what happened, to contact their tip line by phone at 1-877-370-PCPO, or by email at tips@passaiccountynj.org.
"The cause of the vehicle crash is undetermined at this time," officials said on Sunday. "This investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released when it becomes available."
