Elementary School Lockdown Caused By False Emergency Alert, Wayne Police Say

WAYNE, NJ — A Wayne Township elementary school went into lockdown Tuesday due to a false activation of the district's emergency alert system, according to police.
Employees at John F. Kennedy Elementary School "acted quickly to protect students," Wayne PD said in a short statement.
Officers quickly arrived to sweep the building on Ratzer Road, and determined there was no emergency.
