Kering, Gucci's Owner, Opening In Wayne Next Year

The environmental-friendly center will support 350 jobs at its Totowa Road location.

WAYNE, NJ — Kering will open its new North America operations center at 150 Totowa Road next year.

Kering, Gucci's parent company will have a 770,000-square-foot distribution center that will support 350 jobs. There will also be 80,000 square feet of office space and a 17,000-square-foot repair center.

The operations center will replace Kering's current facility in Secaucus.

Kering will apply for certification from the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design from the U.S. Green Building Council, the second highest certification the council offers.

Kering also owns luxury brands Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Pomellato, DoDo, and Girard-Perregaux, among others. In 2018 it had nearly 35,000 employees and $15.4 billion of revenue.

Mayor Chris Vergano previously said he was "pleased" Kering chose to come to Wayne.

The move is part of a massive redevelopment taking place in Wayne.

Construction projects include the redevelopment of the former Wayne Hills Mall site, construction of a Whole Foods on Valley Road where A&P used to be, a luxury movie theater at the Willowbrook Mall, and a Lightbridge Academy daycare center.
