Man With Amazon Vest Stole Package Off Resident's Porch: Wayne PD
A man who stole packages from a resident's front porch Tuesday had the vest in his car along with the missing deliveries, said police.
WAYNE, NJ — Township police tracked down a theft suspect on Tuesday after a Wayne homeowner saw the man take several packages from his front porch, officials said.
Officers found an Amazon vest and multiple open boxes in the Jersey City resident's car during a traffic stop, said Wayne PD Detective Captain Dan Daly in a news release.
The investigation began Tuesday afternoon, after a homeowner in the Heritage Manor neighborhood saw the unknown man take several packages from his front porch "soon after they were delivered." The resident had been expecting multiple cell phones to be delivered to his house and saw the thief on his security camera, Daly said.

The homeowner called police and was able to give them a description of the suspect, and the vehicle he drove off in —noting that the perpetrator had an Amazon vest on, police said.
Detective Sergeant Mark Ciavirella spotted the vehicle on Ratzer Road and made a traffic stop, with several other officers arriving to back him up. Several open packages and an Amazon delivery vest were in the vehicle, officials said.

"The packages were removed from the vehicle and found to contain the multiple cell phones and other items that the resident reported as expected in the delivery," Daly said. "The resident responded to the scene and confirmed that the packages were addressed to his home."
Police arrested the driver, 28-year-old Feliz Moquete of Jersey City. Moquete was released from custody after being charged with two counts of theft, Daly said.
