Man Attacked Bus Drivers, Smashed Bus Windows: Passaic Co. Sheriff’s Office

In addition to assaulting drivers and damaging bus, the accused didn't pay his bus fares, authorities said.

PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — A Passaic County man has been arrested after disrupting Paterson buses for months, the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office said.

According to authorities, Juan C. Hichez, 37, of Paterson, has been attacking bus drivers and damaging the Jitney buses since January. He also has refused to pay bus fares.

An investigation into the bus issues was conducted by the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation led officers to Hichez, who was arrested on Tuesday near Madison and Park avenues in Paterson. His charges include aggravated assault on a motorbus operator, criminal mischief, theft of services, and weapon possession.
