Man Threatened To Kill Wayne Cop After Being Bellicose At Brewery: PD
The 50-year-old was reportedly "screaming profanities and making profane gestures to patrons" before police arrived; he has been charged.
WAYNE, NJ — Officials said a man spit at a Wayne Township officer and threatened to kill him, after he had been acting belligerently to patrons and staff at a local brewery.
Two officers responded to the Seven Tribesmen Brewery at around 8 p.m. on Monday, July 1 to find the man arguing with the bartender, police said. The 50-year-old had reportedly been "screaming profanities and making profane gestures to patrons" before officers arrived, according to a news release from Wayne Township Police.
When the officers tried to calm the man and told him they would help find a ride home, he "continued to argue and exhibit aggressive behavior," said Detective Captain Dan Daly in the news release.

An officer warned the man, identified as Anthony Walker of West Milford, that they would arrest him if he kept being argumentative inside the brewery. Walker then "took a fighting stance towards the officers" and they handcuffed him and escorted him outside, Daly said.
Witnesses told police on scene that Walker had been making gestures and saying he would commit a sex act with another patron's wife, according to officials.

While police were processing his arrest, Walker spit at one of the officers and "stated that he would kill him," Daly said. He also refused to be fingerprinted and refused to provide a DNA swab, despite having an outstanding order to do so, officials added.
Police have charged Walker with disorderly conduct, terroristic threats, obstructing a governmental function, throwing bodily fluids at a law enforcement officer, refusal to provide a DNA sample, and refusal to submit to identification procedures. He was sent to the Passaic County Jail, pending a detention hearing.
