NJ Man Sent Child Porn To Undercover Cop On Social Network: Prosecutor

Officials in Monmouth County said the 25-year-old North Jersey man expressed interest in having sex with a fictional child.

PASSAIC, NJ — Officials seized child pornography files from the home of a Passaic man after saying he sent the electronic files to an undercover detective working in Monmouth County.

Joseph Velazquez, 25, has been charged with two counts of child endangerment, related to the distribution and possession of child sex abuse materials.

Authorities said that in February, the undercover detective was monitoring a chat group on the social media platform Kik when a user called "blazeitupp1" contacted them.

Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said the user, who was later identified as Velazquez, sent the detective files of children being sexually abused and "repeatedly expressed interest in having a sexual encounter with a fictitious child."

During the week of June 17, members of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office and Passaic County Sheriff executed a search warrant at Velazquez’s home in Passaic, where they say they found child pornography files.
