NY Man Drowns At North Jersey Pool Party
This is the third drowning incident reported this weekend in the area.
WAYNE, NJ — A man has been pronounced dead after drowning in a residential pool, according to the Wayne Police Department.
On Saturday, around 10:30 p.m., Wayne police were dispatched to a pool party near Rutgers Court on a report that a car had crashed into a homeowner’s pool.
Upon arrival, officers learned that there was not a car in the pool, but rather a drowning victim.

According to police, the victim was spotted by house guests unconscious, floating at the bottom of the pool. Party goers pulled the man from the water and attempted CPR until Wayne first responders arrived and took over.
The drowning victim, 40, from Queens, NY, was rushed to Saint Joseph’s Wayne Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

This is the third drowning incident in Passaic County this weekend. A five-year-old Paterson boy was pronounced dead after drowning in a pool on Friday, and a 19-year-old was hospitalized on Sunday after a drowning incident at a Clifton pool party.
