Officer Seriously Injured During Firearms Training In Passaic Co: PD
The firearms instructor was attending an advanced training on Tuesday when he suffered "an accidental discharge injury," officials said.
HALEDON, NJ — A firearms instructor for Haledon Police was accidentally shot during an advanced firearms training on Tuesday, officials said.
The officer "sustained an accidental discharge injury while attending advanced firearms training at the Passaic County Police Academy Shooting Range," according to Haledon PD Chief Angelo J. Daniele.
Daniele said the instructor is being treated at St. Joseph's University Trauma Center and was reported to be in serious, but stable condition.

"We wish our officer a speedy recovery and extend our unwavering support during this difficult time," Daniele said in a statement. "We thank everyone for their love and support, which is greatly appreciated."
The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Shooting Response Team is reviewing the incident, in accordance with protocol.
