People are encouraged to bring photos of their loved ones to add to a remembrance banner, so the community can collectively honor them.

WAYNE, NJ — An annual candlelight vigil remembering those lost to a drug overdose, and to raise awareness about addiction and recovery, is coming up in Wayne Township.
The Wayne Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse's 7th Overdose Awareness Candle Vigil is Friday Aug. 30 at 7:00 p.m., in the main entrance of Wayne Town Hall (475 Valley Road, Wayne).
Along with remembering loved ones who have died because of an overdose, the Wayne Alliance will be providing resources and information for parents and students, and also sharing support with those who are healing from a loss. People are encouraged to bring photos of their loved ones to add to a remembrance banner, so the community can collectively honor them.

"The evening will feature personal stories about grief and healing, highlighting the importance of connection when healing from grief," organizers said. "In addition, local leaders and experts will speak on the importance of continued efforts in prevention, education, and support for those struggling with addiction."
