Passaic Co. Man Dead Following 4th Of July Fight, Officials Say

The victim was found unresponsive in the middle of the street before being brought to a hospital, officials said.

PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — A Paterson man has died following a fight in Paterson on the Fourth of July last week, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

According to officials, officers responded to a report of a fight on Broadway and Carroll Street in Paterson at around 8:45 a.m. on Independence Day.

Officers found one victim “lying in the middle of the street unresponsive,” after arriving, authorities said.

The victim, a 44-year-old male, was transported to the Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center. He died there on Tuesday, June 8, officials said.

Passaic County authorities have not released the identity of the deceased, nor shared the names of any suspects regarding the investigation.
