Passaic Co. Man Sentenced For Child Porn Possession
In addition to the prison sentence, the accused has to pay tens of thousands of dollars in restitution.
PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — A Passaic County man has been sentenced to prison after being found guilty of possessing and transporting child pornography, the U.S. Attorney General’s Office announced.
Edward M. O’Hagan, 51, of Hawthorne, pleaded guilty recently to one count of transportation of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.
An investigation found that two email addresses associated with O’Hagan had been used to transport child pornography, according to court documents.

Based on the email accounts, it became clear that O’Hagan had sent child pornography using these emails in January 2023, officials said.
Police searched O’Hagan’s residence in May of 2023 and found “hundreds of images and videos depicting child pornography” on O’Hagan’s electronic devices, according to court documents.

Officials added that O’Hagan had used an “encrypted file storage platform” to upload and create files containing the illegal images and videos.
He was arrested and received the aforementioned charges immediately.
O’Hagan was sentenced to 194 months, just over 16 years, in prison. He was also sentenced to a lifetime term of supervised release and ordered to pay restitution of $86,000 to the victims.
