NJ Man Sexually Assaulted 10-Year-Old, Jury Rules

Officials said the man sexually abused the child over the course of two years, and that the child's sibling was present during the assaults.

PASSAIC, NJ — A Passaic County jury has convicted a man of sexually abusing a child over the course of several years, officials said.

Cirilo Tello, 54, now faces a sentence of between 15 and 30 years in prison, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office.

In January 2023, Paterson Police notified the Prosecutor's Office that a 10-year-old child had been sexually assaulted. Investigators interviewed the child and several witnesses, with the child saying that Tello sexually abused them multiple times between October 2020 and October 2022 at a Paterson home.
