PHOTOS: JCPenney Prepares For Move To Willowbrook Mall In Wayne
The company said it is looking to open its new Willowbrook Mall location by the end of March.

WAYNE, NJ — New signage has been installed both inside and outside Willowbrook Mall, as JCPenney prepares to move out of the adjacent Wayne Towne Center and take an anchor position at Willowbrook.
As Patch reported previously, the department store will occupy the two-floor spot where Lord & Taylor used to be. The new location is slated to open by the end of March.
JCPenney did not give a reason for why it was leaving the Towne Center, where it has been located since the mall opened in 1974, for Willowbrook.

"After 50 years in the Wayne community, JCPenney is excited to welcome customers into our brand new location," the company said in a statement. "We’re grateful for the longtime support of the community and look forward to continuing to serve the people of Wayne."
Earlier in February, videographer Chris Cronin shared some footage of the Wayne Towne Center location, as it prepared to close — you can take a look here.

Visitors to Willowbrook Mall will have also seen signs put up inside in recent weeks.

"We are very excited to have JCP join our lineup, and it’s a real testament to the strength of Willowbrook and our regional shopper draw that they would look to relocate their existing Wayne store to our center," said Ryan Hidalgo, the senior general retail manager for Willowbrook Mall.
Lord & Taylor, the oldest U.S. department store chain, closed its Willowbrook Mall location after filing for bankruptcy in August 2020. Shopper's Find replaced Lord & Taylor before closing in late 2022.
