Police Nab Passaic County Shooting Suspect
The accused faces several charges and decades of prison time.

PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — The main suspect of a shooting earlier this month has been apprehended by police, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Keime Porter, 26, of Paterson, was arrested on Saturday on charges connected to a July 9 shooting.
On July 9, at around 7:45 p.m., Paterson police officers were dispatched to the area of 12th and Madison avenues on a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, police found a 55-year-old Paterson resident suffering from non-fatal gunshot wounds.

The victim was taken to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.
The resulting investigation revealed that Porter had pulled the trigger, according to officials. Police have not revealed a potential motive for the shooting.

He was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service, the New Jersey State Police, and the Paterson Police Department without incident in Clifton on Saturday.
Porter is charged with attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and a certain person not to possess a weapon.
If convicted on all charges, Porter faces a maximum of 50 years in prison. He is currently awaiting court proceedings.
