RWJBarnabas ‘Wellness On Wheels’ Van Coming To Wayne

The vehicle will be parked from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. by the entrance of Finn's Mobile Home Park, which is located at 122 Fairfield Road.

WAYNE, NJ – RWJBarnabas Health Wellness on Wheels (WOW) van is making a stop in Wayne on Wednesday afternoon.

The vehicle will be parked from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. by the entrance of Finn’s Mobile Home Park, which is located at 122 Fairfield Road.

“The Wellness on Wheels education center will enable us to talk about, show, distribute and teach our residents the importance of eating healthy food," said Mary Ann Orapello, Wayne Township’s Health Officer.

All township residents are welcome to visit the 35-foot van, which includes a hydroponic greenhouse and cooking school.

The vehicle is custom-designed to visit schools, senior homes, houses of worship, healthcare facilities and other community organizations to teach about the value of good nutrition.

In addition to providing nutrition education, the WOW van will bring fresh fruits and vegetables grown from RWJBarnabas Health greenhouses and local gardens, according to the township.

The van will be parked near City Green’s Mobile Farmers Market, which sells fresh, organic fruits and vegetables at reasonable prices. The market accepts WIC, SNAP and senior vouchers.
