Scooter-Driving Chain Snatcher Nabbed In Passaic Co., Cops Say

The suspect would "forcibly" rip chains off of women's necks before escaping via electric scooter, police said. One victim was hospitalized.

PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — A man has been arrested in connection with a series of chain snatches occurring across Paterson, according to the Paterson Police Department.

Isaac Williams, 31, of Paterson, was arrested and charged on Monday for stealing chains straight off the necks of several female victims, authorities said. The thefts occurred between July 21 and July 30.

According to police, Williams would drive an electric scooter alongside the women before “forcibly” ripping their chains off their necks and driving away. One of the thefts resulted in a woman being hospitalized for minor injuries.
