Search Called Off For Missing Ringwood Man In Vermont: Police

Brian Brady, 57, was set to be re-sentenced in a corruption trial, but went missing, police said.

PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — Authorities have called off a search for a Ringwood man who went missing in Vermont the day before he was sent to be re-sentenced in a corruption trial.

Brian Brady, 57, was reported missing on Thursday afternoon, Vermont State Police said. Police conducted a wellness check at a condo owned by Brady at the Smugglers' Notch Resort at his family's request, only to find that Brady was missing.

Authorities investigated and learned that Brady rented a car in New Jersey May 22 and drove up to Vermont, police said. The car was found Friday in a park and ride lot in Addison, about a quarter of a mile from the Champlain Bridge. The bridge is between Addison and Crown Point, Vermont. Brady was last reported to be near the bridge, authorities said.
