Wayne School Board Hires Educational Institute For Superintendent Search

School board officials said they expect the search to be completed in the early spring, with opportunities for community input.

WAYNE, NJ — The search for a new Wayne Township Schools superintendent to replace Dr. Mark Toback has begun, with school board officials expecting a new leader to be named by the spring.

Toback is the longest-serving superintendent in district history, having served as the head administrator for the district since 2014.

The school board announced they have awarded a $30,000 contract to the Comegno Education Institute as a partner during their search for his successor. Board leaders said the search will include opportunities for public input, and that they are confident the group "has the experience and expertise to lead us in this critical endeavor."

"Dr. Bilotti's passion for student-centered education and her proven track record of success in improving student access to learning make her uniquely qualified to guide the district in this important search," board members said on Tuesday.
