The 16-year-old was charged with the juvenile delinquency equivalent of attempted murder in a shooting after a Passaic County Tech game.

WAYNE, NJ — Authorities have charged a teenager in connection with a shooting after a high school football game at the Passaic County Technical Institute in Wayne, which injured two other teens.

The juvenile delinquency charges would be equivalent to first-degree attempted murder, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, and second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose if the teen was an adult, said the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office.

Members of the Passaic County Sheriff's Office were at the game between Passaic Tech and Lenape High School when gunfire broke out around 7:33 p.m. Friday evening, officials said. Deputies located a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old who had sustained non-fatal gunshot wounds, and EMS crews transported them both to St. Joseph's University Medical Center.
