Wayne Alliance, Chilton Hospital Unite For Stigma-Free Fun Run

The run is a show of solidarity that Wayne is a stigma-free community.

WAYNE, NJ — A special fun run designed to unify the community and promote Wayne as a stigma-free town is next month.

The first annual Fund Run and Walk: Uniting To Be Stigma-Free, is Sunday, June 2 at the Wayne Valley High School track

The Wayne Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse and Chilton Medical Center in Pompton Plains are sponsoring the event.

The Town Council approved a resolution in 2017 declaring the township a stigma-free zone.

Chilton awarded Wayne a grant in February from its Stigma-Free Communities Initiative program. The grant allows the town and the Wayne Alliance to increase awareness about how to recognize and help people who suffer with a mental health condition.
