Wayne Gas Station Robbed At Gunpoint: Police

A white man brandished a semiautomatic handgun and demanded money from someone at the Delta gas station on Route 23

WAYNE, NJ — An armed robbery was reported at a township gas station Saturday night, police said.

Officers responded to the Delta gas station on Route 23 northbound at about 8:30 p.m. on a report of an armed robbery, said Detective Capt. Christian Wittig.

The victim told the police that the suspect brandished a semiautomatic handgun and demanded money. The victim gave the suspect money, Wittig said.

The suspect left the gas station on foot. Police checked the surrounding area, but did not find him, the captain said.

The suspect was described as a white man, about 6 feet, 3 inches tall, wearing all black clothes and a black face mask, Wittig said.
