Wayne Man Charged With Animal Cruelty

Craig Lam, 37, was arrested after a dog was brought to an animal hospital dead: Prosecutor.

WAYNE, NJ — A township man was arrested Tuesday after police investigated a report of animal cruelty.

Craig J. Lam, 37, was charged with third-degree animal cruelty, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes said in a news release.

The arrest stems from an animal cruelty complaint police received May 31. Police were sent to Knox Terrace where they were told that Lam took a dog to the Fairfield Animal Emergency Hospital in Fairfield, Valdes said.

Animal hospital staff told police that the dog was dead when it arrived, the prosecutor said.

Authorities investigated and Lam was arrested and charged.

Lam is scheduled to appear in Passaic County Central Judicial Processing Court July 24.
