Wayne, Passaic County Golfers to Compete in Liberty Mutual Insurance Invitational Finals Feb. 26-March 1

The event is the culmination of the 2014 Golf Tournament Series that raised more than $7.2 million for local and national charities.

Local residents Allan Kaytes of Wayne, Mike Howe of Clifton and Scott Natusch of Woodland Park will be among 240 amateur golfers who will compete in the Liberty Mutual Insurance Invitational National Finals at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Feb. 26 to March 1. The golfers qualified for the national event by winning the Liberty Mutual Insurance Invitational held at Preakness Hills Country Club on Oct. 7, 2014, which supported the NewBridge.

The Liberty Mutual Invitational National Finals is the culmination of a series of more than 75 charity golf tournaments around the country in 2014 hosted by Liberty Mutual and local and national charitable organizations that raised more than $7.2 million for charity.

“These golfers represent 12,000 golfers who generously supported more than 60 charities through our series of amateur golf events, and we look forward to celebrating at TPC Sawgrass their invaluable contributions to their communities,” said John Coombe, vice president of brand management and sponsorships at Liberty Mutual.

Two-time U.S. Open Champion and World Golf Hall of Famer Curtis Strange, honorary chairman of the Liberty Mutual Invitational, will be on-hand to interact with the players and conduct an exclusive clinic for the field. “I am proud and honored to support the Liberty Mutual Invitational, a series that has raised over $28 million for so many great charities in just five years,” said Strange.

“The #1 Charity Event In GolfTM,” the Liberty Mutual Insurance Invitational tournaments are single-day events featuring an 18-hole Scramble format open to men and women amateur golfers of all skill levels in the local community. Each tournament is held at a prestigious golf course in that community and concludes with a dinner and awards ceremony. Winning foursomes from each local tournament are invited to play in the four-day Liberty Mutual Invitational National.
