Wayne PD Arrest Make Two Shoplifiting Arrests on Same Day
The first suspect allegedly stole Jordan apparel, while the second suspect allegedly stole nearly $800 worth of merchandise from Sears.
Wayne PD say they arrested two individuals on the same day for separate shoplifting incidents at Willowbrook Mall last week.
The first arrested came at 4:30 p.m. on March 13 when a 40-year-old Newark man - who was working with two other men - allegedly stole five stacks of Jordan t-shirts from Champs Sporting Goods, according to Captain Martin Laurence.
While the two other men fled with the stolen merchandise, the apprehended suspect provided false information to Loss Prevention employees and Wayne Police Officers, but was positively identified as Edwin Lopez after being transported to Police Headquarters, Captain Martin said.
