Wayne Schools Close Due To Snow

The National Weather Service is projecting between 1 and 3 inches of snow to fall in Wayne on Monday night and continuing Tuesday.

WAYNE, NJ — All Wayne Township Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday due to weather conditions and hazardous road conditions, announced the district on Tuesday morning.

All after-school and evening activities are also canceled.

The National Weather Service has projected that snow accumulations of one to three inches and ice accumulations of around one-tenth of an inch are possible in the Wayne area.

A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 7 p.m. this evening.

Today: Snow before 9 a.m., then snow, freezing rain, and sleet between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., then a chance of snow after 3 p.m. High near 28. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. Northeast wind 6 to 8 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. The chance of precipitation is 90 percent. Total daytime ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch possible. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 14. Wind chill values between 5 and 10. Northwest wind 7 to 11 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 25. Wind chill values between 5 and 15. West wind 7 to 11 mph.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 18. Wind chill values between 10 and 15. West wind around 10 mph.
