Wayne Thanksgiving Drive To Help Families In Need

A $30 donation will provide a family with a turkey, vegetables and all the fixings.

WAYNE, NJ – The Wayne Interfaith Network food pantry hopes to help several local low-income families enjoy a traditional holiday meal on Thanksgiving Day.

As part of the effort, the non-profit is asking residents and organizations to consider donating checks or supermarket gift cards to help provide a basket filled with the makings of a complete holiday meal to a family in need of assistance.

According to the Wayne Interfaith Network, a $30 donation will sponsor a whole basket – which includes a frozen turkey, fresh vegetables and fixings – to a family. However, any amount is appreciated, the organization said.

Each year, the department seeks to identify families in need of assistance during the holidays and rallies support from the community in preparing Thanksgiving baskets.
