Wayne's Town-Wide Garage Sale Weekend Returns This April

Doing some spring cleaning? Residents, charitable organizations, and religious institutions can set up sales without paying the usual fee.

WAYNE, NJ — Spring is almost here, and that means Wayne Township residents and organizations might be thinking about cleaning out their garages, basements, and closets of unwanted items.

But as they say, one person's trash is another person's treasure — and with the Township-Wide Garage Sale coming up in April, neighbors have the opportunity to sell some of those household treasures, or drive through Wayne neighborhoods looking for the perfect find.

This year's Township-Wide Garage Sale weekend runs Friday, April 25 through Sunday April 27 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

Residents, charitable organizations, and religious institutions may hold garage sales over this weekend at no cost. They will not have to pay the $5 fee or apply for a garage sale/flea market permit.

The township is building a virtual, interactive map for neighbors to see where the garage sales will be taking place, and any resident who wants theirs to be added to the list must sign up online by April 22. The map will be disabled on the next business day.

And it doesn't have to be in the garage — just on your own property.

Those hosting garage sales will still have to follow township sign regulations, and not post advertisements for the sales on utility poles, light standards, trees, or on the right-of-way.
